2021 Spotlight Personal Statement
My name is Grace Flanagan and I am in the graduating class of 2023. I have been playing volleyball for three years on the high school team and for the Long Island Blaze Volleyball Club but have always been athletic and involved in different sports (4 years on a private gymnastics team) before coming to this one. Playing volleyball is an important part of my life and I want to find a way to balance it with my education. Achieving good grades in school is definitely a priority and I take a lot of pride in those accomplishments. During the high school and travel seasons, I enjoy working hard to always try to improve my skills, strengthen team play, and bring leadership on and off the court. Bonding with my teammates and coaches makes the sport a lot of fun for me too!
