NICOLE BERCUN - 2...Personal Statement
My name is Nicole Bercun, and I started playing volleyball the summer that I was going into 8th grade. I quickly became very into the sport and decided I would try out for my school’s 8th grade Volleyball team. Not only I made the best team (out of four teams), without much experience, but also was awarded MVP trophy for the season!
Since I was very young my parents exposed me to play multiple sports. I played 4 years club soccer as a starting striker, 5 years club basketball playing starting PG and I am currently a ranked tennis player, competing and winning in L3 to L5 tournaments in multiple States. But as much as I love tennis as an individual sport, I fell in love with volleyball even more as I love being part of a team that shares the same passion I do towards the sport, plus I also love to compete and push myself.
Right after my school’s middle school season ended, I decided to try out for Legacy Volleyball Club. I made their 14s Nationals Girls team and played as Libero. That allowed me to competed in various tournaments locally as well as regionally. Supporting my teammates, keeping a positive energy, growing my skills and staying focused on the court, in tournaments and practices, has always been my priorities as a player. I love to have a good challenge and to work hard and take risks playing in my position as libero.
Fall 2024 I made the Varsity team in my high school.
This coming season I will be playing for Legacy Nationals U15 Girls team, playing libero again, and was selected Captain.

I also am very focused on academics, and that comes as a top priority to me. I am in all the highest level honors courses that my high school has to offer, and my current GPA is 4.2 in a very competitive school district. I am looking for a school that pushes me both, in sports as well as academics.
