Catherine Vento '21 Recruiting Profile

I am committed to earn admission to an academically selective university and competitive volleyball program.  My background includes 5 seasons of club and 3 seasons of Varsity experience as a Middle Hitter. I participated in the USAV High Performance National Training Program in 2016 and 2017.  I led my club team in hitting percentage in 2018 and helped them earn first seed in the GEVA 14 Open Division and a bid to the USAV Girls Junior National Championships. In 2019 I was a starter Middle and helped my team win the GEVA Power League Championship and the GEVA 15 Open Championship. I led my Varsity team in hitting, blocking and aces my sophomore year.  My junior year I led my team in blocking, was a scoring leader in Suffolk County as published by Newsday and received all league honors. I am also competitive in the classroom where I was inducted into the National Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society and have earned the NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete award for 3 consecutive years. In addition to my efforts on the court and in the classroom I have also demonstrated leadership on my team, volunteered time to my parish, veteran's nursing home and local soup kitchen through my extracurricular activities. I feel I am well rounded physically, emotionally and academically to be a strong presence on your team as well as a high performer in the classroom.
