Hello Coaches!

Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement. Currently, I am a successful and passionate student who plays one of the best sports around! I want to continue my education as a student-athlete at your institution. Playing volleyball in college would help me develop and fine-tune essential skills like communication and teamwork, as well as time-management skills needed in the workplace today. I want to pursue a degree in education. I hope to become a high school math or science teacher and a volleyball coach. Many amazing women in my family have inspired me to pursue a career as a teacher. One of my passions is helping others and what better way to help others than to become a teacher and a coach?

My love for volleyball started with watching my aunt play. My mom is a high school teacher and volleyball coach. I grew up watching her coach my aunt when she was in high school. The more I watched my aunt play the more I fell in love with the sport. After the games before the team took the net down, they would let me and my childhood best friend hit a ball back and forth across the net. This sparked my interest in the sport. So, I started playing club volleyball, and soon after I was playing for my middle school volleyball team. Volleyball is an outlet for me and I get lost playing the sport I can't live without. After enduring many hardships in my first high school season I have proved my adversaries' wrong receiving an All-Conference and All-Region award.
