My name is Ruthie Richardson and I have been playing volleyball since 5th grade and club/travel volleyball since 7th grade. I love volleyball and my main position is MB or OH, but I can play Opposite as well. I have also done multiple seasons of beach volleyball (usually around 3 months a year, sometimes more). I attended Oak Ridge Military Academy in Oak Ridge, NC, as a 7 day boarder my junior year. I want to play volleyball in college and am open to all options.
My experience at a military boarding school has taught me some great skills, including self discipline, time management and accountability on a daily basis to all of my peers in the Corp of Cadets at Oak Ridge Military. I believe these skills will help me from a student/athlete standpoint in college. A college with a smaller enrollment would probably be best for me academically as my current school has smaller classes, which allows me to get to know the teachers better than I would at a larger high school.
