Hi my name is Destini Phifer. I am a junior in High School attending North Carolina Connections Academy. Last year I had the tremendous opportunity to play my first Elite club season with Lake Norman Volleyball Club. I am now playing with Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club. I had already had a love for the game of volleyball however I gained so much besides additional skill and growth from playing with this team. I’ve seen what it takes to compete at a higher level and the passion it takes to get there. Playing volleyball and working with my teammates has helped me to develop my character and attitude on and off the court. Current I play Middle because it is the position my team needs most, however I can play Outside and Setter as well. I work really hard to be a good student maintaining a 4.0 GPA and challenging myself to take Honors, AP and College classes while in High School. I work hard and give my best effort in the gym, practicing and honing my skills and pushing my body to perform and go beyond my previous limit. I work hard as a leader in my community and in my church inspire other young people to pursue their goals and dreams. I believe I would make a good candidate for the right team because of theses attributes. Having the right attitude helps me to continue to strive to be my best, giving my full effort 100 percent of the time. I have learned that my attitude ultimately determines how I take criticism, how I react to mistakes, how hard I push myself when things get tough, and how I can motivate my team when we are up as well as when we are down.
My hope is to continue to participate in volleyball and improve my level of play at the collegiate level. I am looking forward to continue to develop a positive, hardworking, and selfless attitude throughout each season. In addition, playing volleyball at the collegiate level would help me to pursue my passion for screenwriting and film production in college while providing financial relief for my family. I will be able to continue in the sport I love and see all my daily hard work and determination produce tangible results. I look forwarding to receiving a top-notch education enabling me to reach my career goals.
Lastly, I love to be around like minded determined and ambitious collegiate athletes to further my skill in athletics and push me to be better.
