My name is Mia Hinsz and I will be a 2022 graduate of Bismarck High School in ND. I am a hard-working, humble, and coachable athlete who loves to compete. I also compete in two other varsity sports, basketball and fastpitch softball. I was the starting centerfielder in fastpitch softball this past season. Being a three sport athlete has helped me become the ultimate competitor.
Volleyball is my passion and I play whenever I can whether it be indoors or in beach tournaments. I have my hands on the volleyball all the time. I know that I am capable of playing volleyball in college and will always work hard and compete. I will continue to work on my skills all summer to improve along with power training to keep me in shape and help further develop my vertical jump and agility.
I have been a varsity starter for my high school volleyball team as a setter since I was a sophomore. I lead the West Region Conference in North Dakota in aces this past season of my junior year. I am have been defensive setter and a team player. My passion is defense but my high school team in the past two years needed me to be a setter. This is what has been best for the team the past two seasons and I am very happy to fill that spot for our team.
In my senior season, my primary position is libero where I was name the Western Dakota Conference Senior Athlete of the Year and 1st Team all Western Dakota Conference. I can bring a strong left handed serve to any college looking for a defensive specialist, libero or setter. I also am a setter/libero for my club team too.
I am a 4.0 student and have taken AP Biology and AP Psychology classes. I am looking for colleges in the Midwest but would be happy going far away from home for college too. I am unsure of my major at this point, but I am leaning towards a major in education. My realistic athletic goals are to continue playing the sport I love at a high competitive level while receiving a great education. I am a quiet, humble leader who leads by example. My goal is to make an impact on the team by showing these attributes every day in practice and on the court during matches. I know I can make a positive impact and am excited for what the future has in store!
