Sophia Keller '23 Recruiting Profile

Since I have started playing volleyball not only has my grades gone up but also my confidence in myself. The leadership I have learned from volleyball will stick with me for the rest of my life and will continue to help me succeed into adulthood. 

I started playing in 4th grade in Worthington Youth Boosters, then started club in 6th grade.  I didn't even try out for the club team,  My Mom took to a Saturday morning clinic, the owner of Buckeye Volleyball came over and asked my Mom why I didn't try out the weekend before.   She said my husband is cheap, well he said we are changing that now, she is on the regional team.   7th grade I made the American team  for coach Jill Yocum (head coach of Columbus State).  8th grade year I was co-captain and freshman year I made both the freshman and JV team at Kilbourne High School.  

For my Jr year, I was the starting middle for varsity and was #1 in blocking & 3rd kills.  I received a special mention award from  the Ohio Capital Conference.   

I am currently playing my 4th year on the American team for Coach Korey at Buckeye Volleyball Club as the middle.  My goal is to keep playing competitive for many years to come and some day to start coaching.
