Jennifer Vargo '13 Recruiting Profile

My goal and dream is to play volleyball in college. I hope to be on your list of recruits for the class of 2013! I would like to take just a few moments of your time to tell you about myself. I am a sophomore at Dublin Coffman High School in Dublin, Ohio. I played on the Varsity Team. I played every match as an OH hitter(and set behind our first team All State setter). Dublin Coffman was the state runner up for the 2nd year in a row, Division IA (highest division in Ohio)! I was named 2010 Varsity Rookie of the Year. I have been a four-year starter on my club volleyball team (Mintonette Sports) playing both Open and National level competition. My team has qualified for Nationals three years in a row. Last club season I was the team captain and played both setter and outside hitter for m51. At Nationals, I was nominated for All American and we finished 5th in the American Division. I am very aggressive and focused and I thrive in an environment where I am challenged. I strive to outplay and outsmart my opponent and my goal is always to win. Over the years, I have developed and maintained great relationships with my teammates and coaches. I feel I am very effective in competitive environments and am able to adapt to change very well. In fact, I was just given the role of "The Versatile Player" on my high school varsity team. I have a great desire to succeed and I am willing to train outside of practice in order to improve. I believe that working hard translates into great success. You will find I am equally as motivated to succeed in the classroom. I realize that when volleyball is over, my success in the classroom will be paramount. I strive for top grades and I challenge myself with honors and accelerated classes. I currently have a 4.15/4.0 grade point average. My goal is to attend a college where I can be challenged on the court and in the classroom. Geographically, I would be open mostly to a medium or large school in most areas of the country. I would prefer academically strong Division I or Division II schools.
