I have played volleyball for as long as I can remember, and I started playing competitively at Oiler Attack Club in the fourth grade. I moved to Shanghai, China in the eighth grade and received the opportunity to compete with the varsity team through the season. It was a great and humbling experience to be a captain of a winning varsity team in the eighth grade. I am a very committed and competitive athlete who has always loved playing at the highest level pushing myself beyond my limits. I work hard in and out of season to better myself for the good of the team by lifting and watching film. I am a very versatile player playing wherever Coach has a need, from middle hitter to outside to opposite, I always try my best to adjust to new positions and I am willing to try new things. I am also a part of the varsity track team, throwing shot put and discus to keep me motivated for the next coming season. It has always been a huge goal of mine to be a part of a collegiate volleyball team.
I am also a driven student with a 3.8 GPA in many difficult honors classes. I received a 24 on the ACT and I am working to score a few more points by studying and taking classes. I have also been inducted into National Honor Society and have been an All Track Scholar Athlete for the past two years. Grades are just as important to me as extracurriculars because I have the mind set that if you are not able to work hard on what is important then the fun stuff will never account for anything.
I am looking to major in film and cinematography. I love paying attention to the CGI in movies such as Star Wars and Avengers. I have always been curious about how it was done and how it could all look so real, so I started researching and I have become extremely interested in that field. I have even gotten the opportunity to job shadow in the media department at Marathon where I learned more about film and edits.
Overall I am very excited to further my academic and athletic career in college, and I cannot wait for many more great experiences to come.
