I will never forget how it felt to first touch a volleyball, to make my first team, to score my first point in a game. The first day I walked into a tryout, I discovered what pure and undeniable happiness felt like, and for that, I am forever grateful. Volleyball is the best thing to ever happen to me. Though I only began in 6th grade, my late start never prevented me from growing a love for the sport, so strong, that nothing else could ever make me feel the way I do while on the court. It's something I hope to experience for the rest of my life.
Volleyball has taught me so much about myself and has played a significant role in molding me into who I am today. I am the very best version of myself when I am on the court. I push myself to any limit and I have worked very hard to get to where I am now. I can't say I have ever been more passionate about anything in my life. I always strive to lift up my teammates and encourage them to never give up on any play or any game.
I welcome criticism. In fact, I search for ways to constantly better myself as a player and as a person. I am thankful for everyone who haas ever told me I can't. I work everyday to prove those who ever doubted me wrong and it has really set my priorities straight. I am very coachable and never take a practice or word of advice for granted.
I love a challenge. I play my best when I am being pushed beyond my limits. Intense rallies and games are my strongsuit. I take pride in not cracking under pressure. Volleyball is fun. When you are playing your best and feeling your best, you are able to get out of your head and enjoy yourself. I have always admired volleyball for being my escape from reality and my chance to play my heart out without worry. I hope to one day be the type of player that will bring value and leadership to any college team I am fortunate enough to join.
I had gone through a very rough time in my life and I can proudly say volleyball is one of the major points that got me through it. The court is my free space, my world. Words will never be able to describe how unbelievably lucky I feel to have found the thing that brings out all the joy, the tears, the pain, the adrenaline, and meaning in my life. Volleyball had dcompletely taken over my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. I will work hard every day to better myself as a player, as a teammate, and as a person. I can't wait to watch my hard worl pay off.
Much like in sports, I enjoy a challenge with my education. It has always been crucial, to not only me but my family as well, that I maintain good grades. I work very hard in school and take great pride in that. I have of course made a list of schools I hope to attend but I will be more than happy to go wherever I fit. I know there are countless schools with incredible volleyball programs and academic opportunities and I am looking forward to find my perfect match.
