I am currently a second year post secondary student at Shawnee State University. I have accumulated 38 semester credit hours with a GPA of 4.27 and will have 53 credit hours by the time I graduate from high school in May of 2020. I plan to apply for nursing school in the future. I chose this career field due to a horrible car accident in which I was involved in 2015. It made me want to help people in crisis and provide the care they need.
I feel I am a good candidate for a volleyball team at the collegiate level due to my athletic capabilities and volleyball skills. I have received the SOC 1 League Defensive Player of the Year two years in a row, All Ohio Honorable Mention, Ohio Southeastern Conference District 14 First Team, and Western High School MVP. I have 1,284 career digs and 1,123 career serve receives. Although, I achieved those statistic defensive stats, I wasn't a defensive specialist because I also led our team in kills. Even though, I am versatile on the court, my goal is to be a defensive specialist at the collegiate level. I feel I could be a huge defensive asset for a team.
What makes me stand apart from other recruits is my desire, my intrinsic motivation, my personality, and my faith. When I dedicate myself to something, I make it my focus and give it everything I've got. I set goals for myself, work hard to obtain them, and I don't let anything stand in my way. My outgoing personality allows me to be a natural leader with strong communication skills. I lead my team on and off the court, encouraging others to give 110% while setting an example by giving 110% myself. Lastly, my faith sets me apart. I do not take my God given abilities for granted. God has blessed me with the athleticism, attitude, and drive to be the person I am today.
