The first time I’ve ever been introduced to volleyball was through watching it on Tv. I watched all the hard hitters killing the ball and all the passers use everything in their body to get every ball up, and right then and there I knew I aspired to become what they were. And since that moment on, I’ve trained and practiced volleyball everyday to become the player I am today. The one thing that I learned from my journey to get here is that patience and practice is key. Without the constant skill practice to become consistent and the patience of slowly getting better ultimately effects how I play today. The goals that I still use to this day are, to keep a defensive mentality meaning to always go for any ball especially if you don’t get it, to keep doing hard things so they become easier, and to always take constructive criticism.
For my academic's, I really focus on what I want to become of myself in the future. I’m never afraid to ask questions and admit when I’m incorrect on something. And I’m always excited to learn something new that would put me closer to my future goal. And I put forth effort in my assignments and the results show.
With both academics and volleyball, i know have a strong character. In any of my years of playing this sport I have never had the same team and yet I have connected with each and every new person I’ve met since. In general I would consider myself an extrovert, and I especially love meeting new people. What differs me from other players and students is that I have the qualities of strong leader, I’m loud on the court and cheer the loudest for my teammates, and in school I perform well in my classes and help my classmates to also reach success. And I believe with my skills, academics, and personality I am truly a person that could fit in with anyone and anywhere.
