In my house I am the only girl sibling in a house of boys, so by nature I have lived a life full of competition. I enjoy trying to challenge myself with new things to see what I am capable of doing. In short, I like being good and excelling at things. This is why I believe I try so hard in the classroom as well, I chase success. In college I plan to continue my academic success and go into (neuro)psychology with a specialty in pediatric Tourette's.
While volleyball is my main sport, I also run track and play tennis in the Spring. Girls tennis season is in the same season as volleyball so in the spring I play with the boys. Tennis has given me my mental edge. When on the court by yourself, and even more being the only girl on the court, your thoughts can get to you, but with my years of experience I feel my mental toughness has evolved and I am able to play with a level headed mind and control my thoughts. Track has pushed me and my body to extremes I didn't know were possible and volleyball has taught me athletic discipline. I've experienced a lot of different sports environments and team dynamics and Volleyball is the only sport that has ever had this type of hold on me. I believe in myself and my abilities and know that I have what it takes to play an important role on a team at the next level.
