Emily Weithman '15 Recruiting Profile

Hello everyone, my name is Emily Weithman. I am a Senior at Buckeye Central High School in New Washington, Ohio. I have been around volleyball my entire life, and it is a passion of mine that I am wishing to pursue at the next level. I was the starting setter for my high school varsity team for the past threeyears. As a sophomore I helped lead my team to a state final 4 appearance. As a junior I was co-captain and ran a 6-2.I also earned 2nd team all-conference and 2nd team all-district. In my senior season I ran a 5-1 and was the team captain. I was honored with 2nd team all-ohio, 1st team all-district, 1st team all-conference and also co-player of the year in our league.

Along with school ball, I also am involved in club volleyball. I have played at Blackswamp Volleyball Club for 8 years, and I have been playing on our National teams since I was 12. In 2010, when I was 14 years old and playing on the 15 national team, we earned the title of "National Champions" in Atlanta, Georgia. This past year, I was on the 17 National team coached by Kiara Ruffing. We earned our bid to nationals by placing second in the OVR Bid tournament and received a "national" bid. At the national tournament, we made a great run at the title, but fell a little short and placed 5th.

In school I also play basketball. this will be my third year as a varsity starter. I am also a four year member of my school's Spanish Club and a member of Show Choir. My grades are very important to me. I currently carry a 3.976  GPA, and I am ranked 4th in my class. Volleyball is something that I love. It is part of my life and I wish to continue playing for as long as I can while pursuing my education.
