Hello, my name is Dixie Miller. I am a junior at Grand Valley High School in Orwell, Ohio and will be graduating with the class of 2024. I am a very active athlete all year round. I participate in three sports during the school year: volleyball (outside hitter), basketball (center), and track (sprinter). During summer I play volleyball and basketball summer league while working part time.
I have been playing volleyball since 8th grade. Even starting at this level, I developed a love for the competition in this sport. During freshman year, I was rotating between JV and Varsity. I earned a stater position my sophomore year on Varsity. I have participated in college volleyball camps at Ursuline College and Walsh University with our varsity team. I also assist with our local kid's volleyball camp. I believe with my dedication and hard work; I have been able to learn the values on how to be an excellent team player.
During the school year I am very dedicated to my sports as well as my schoolwork. I maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout the year. For this upcoming junior year, I will also be participating in the CCP (College Credit Plus) program offered though Kent State University. I would like to study medical coding through my college education. My goal is to play volleyball at the next level while earning my degree. I believe I will be successful at my goals, thanks to learning time management skills at an early age.
