**Update - Currently for the 2017 season (my senior year) I am ranked #3 in digs for the state of Ohio as of Sept. 22, 2017**
Ever since 3rd grade I have had this dream of playing college volleyball. I have been around the game almost my whole life and I put the extra time in to make myself better by not only playing for my school team, but also playing on JO teams and attending summer camps. My dedication to the sport cannot be questioned. I am often a team leader and an excellent example of pushing oneself and my teammates to excel and improve.
I was 4 year starter for my varsity team at Russia High School, which plays in the SCL league. This league and surrounding area is highly competitive with the division IV state champion being from either Shelby County or in the MAC league since 2007! During my senior year, I was the team's libero and finished the season with 598 digs, bringing my career digs to 1603 which set a new school record (old record was 878 digs). I was named All-Ohio Honorable mention, District 9 State Representative for All Star Match, 1st Team Southwest District, and 1st Team All County. My high school team awards include MVP, Best Defensive and Best Server award for my senior season. My high school team made it the the DIV regional semifinals where once again the state champion came out of my region.
During my junior year, I was my team's libero and finished the season with 601 digs, bringing my career digs to 1003. I now hold my school's records of digs/match (47), digs/season (601) and career digs (1003). My awards for my junior year include All-Ohio Honorable Mention, 1st team District 9, 2nd Team All-County. On my high school team I received MVP, best Defensive player and Best Server awards. But more importantly, I helped my team finish as District Runner's Up and of the 12 teams losses, 10 of those came from teams playing in the Div. III or IV regional tournament.
I love volleyball and you will find me constantly in a gym working to improve upon my skills. I also take the time to help local youth players at JO practices and youth camps and am currently volunteering my services to be a 4-H camp counselor this summer to provide a positive experience for youth campers.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers and younger athletes.
