Since I’ve been playing I began to learn about how hard you need to work to reach the goals you make for yourself. My middle school team made it to the championship two years in a row. I made the goal my freshman year to get in at least JV for my high school team & I ended up playing on varsity. I am known for being very loud and verbal during games, practices, anything really. Getting excited for not only yourself but, getting excited for your teammate and seeing how happy they get from everyone cheering them on is one of the best feelings. I’ve also learned that when it comes to getting put in positions you have to be flexible. I have gotten my position changed many times and I’m sure it’ll happen more. I do love getting the chance to play different positions because hitting different sets and playing a different spot in defense can be really fun. I’ve also learned there can be mental blocks and a lot of pressure and/or stress can come with playing somedays. On those days I still get up, get ready, and go to practice or the game. Volleyball has been my life for awhile and it’ll always be my comfort sport. This game has taught me so much more than just volleyball itself. I’ve made a lot of good memories & a lot of fun tournament, team bonding, etc. Volleyball is in a way, a release for me because at the end of the day, I get to go to practice and be in the gym doing the thing I love with people I like being around.
