My overall goal is to play volleyball at the collegiate level at a school that fits me both academically and athletically. I originally fell in love with the sport in an elementary school gym class. As I began to learn more skills, my love developed and I found myself playing on a U13 team at 11 years old. At the same time I was still playing club softball, which I had been playing since I was five. I will be forever grateful for the work ethic it has taught me to balance both my academics and athletics. Eventually, I began to focus solely on volleyball, giving up competitive softball.
Although I am attempting to get recruited for indoor volleyball, I recognize the benefits of beach volleyball during the summer as a way of practicing and conditioning. I started playing beach when I was 14 years old. I began at the camp, On Point Beach Volleyball and then began playing with coaches and friends in leagues hosted locally.
I think I would be an amazing asset to any team for my energy, enthusiasm, drive, hard work and determination. As a libero, It's my role to be the loudest on the court and pump up each and every one of my teammates. Also, taking the accountability for the ball not hitting the floor. Diving is one of the many things I adore about the game and I'm more than proud to say you will always find me with floor burns or bruises. My beach coaches actually refer to me as a 'sand monster' as you can always find me buried in the sand after every playing.
When I'm not on the courts, you can always find me at the gym. It's a goal of mine to be the best version of myself that I can be. To accomplish this, I follow a strength and conditioning program 5 days a week. On top of that, I'm also taking a foods a nutrients course in school. Learning how to cook food that will fuel my body.
My coaches are the entire reason I am here today. Due to this, I decided to give back to my community and coach younger girls and boys whenever I get the chance. I aspire to be the inspiration for these little athletes and to help them reach their goals. Right now, I am helping coach elementary school volleyball, both boys and girls.
Volleyball aside, my academics are extremely important to me. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA so far throughout high school and it is a goal of mine to continue this. In the future, I hope to go into a field of study involving the sciences or mathematics but, I would like to keep all my options open. Growing up as a multi-sport athlete taught me amazing time management, work ethic and responsibility. All of which I am extremely grateful for.
Here are some of my volleyball achievements over the years:
-13u MVP (1st year)
-13u OVA Award of Excellence (1st year)
-Captain of my 13u travel team (1st year)
-13u MVP (2nd year)
-13u Provincial Bronze Medal (2nd year)
