Sports have always been a huge part of my life. I have always been athletic since I was a kid through playing rep soccer, participating in a high level of dance, and competing in recreational and club volleyball. I started playing volleyball when my parents signed up my sister and I for a recreational volleyball program. We both developed a passion for the sport and wanted to play at a higher level. My dad did some research and found a local club, Grimsby Vipers, that was having tryouts for a club team. We tried out for their 13U team and we made the team. I played with this team for three years and for the last two years I have played for Defensa Volleyball Club. I have been playing club volleyball for five years. I attend St. John Henry Newman Catholic Secondary School and have played school volleyball there. In my Sophomore year, we advanced to the finals. That same year, I was chosen to be an all-star player to compete in the HWCDSB vs HWDSB Game.
Outside of volleyball, I train with a sports specific trainer about three times a week. In this training, my sport is specified therefore I do training that will improve the outcome of my playing. For example, gaining arm strength for hitting. I am very hard-working and always strive for the best. I always try my best to improve at each practice, training session, game, or tournament. I have a passion to play at the university level for volleyball. I have always been interested in it since I started club volleyball. I am an intense and vocal leader on the court and I love firing my team up when we are playing. I am committed to my team and I show discipline. I am determined to give my all and be confident. Academically, I am just as passionate. I carry a 3.7 GPA and I am taking several honors classes. I have been an honor roll in both grades 9, 10, and 11. I look for a school that challenges me both academically and athletically. I would like a school that values my goals, leads me in the right direction, and pushes me to be the best student-athlete I can be.
