Personal Statement

Hello,  my name is Grace Nealy, I’m 16 years old, and I am a 6’0” Middle Blocker from Albany, OR.

I am proud athlete of the  North Pacific Juniors Volleyball Club (NPJ) 17National Team, Starting Middle Blocker.  We have a bid to the National Tournament in Las Vegas in July. I am so excited to play! We finished 32/64 right down the middle! In Oregon we only got to practice for 45 min in groups of 6 for many weeks, so our team did well with all the restrictions.

Last years team I was on the 16 Elite Team,  Co-Capt. and starting Middle Blocker. Our season was cut short by Covid, like so many other teams. We ended mid season in the Gold bracket, ranking us 9th in our region. We had hoped to make the Nationals in Texas and represent our club.  I was also qualified for State competion  my 1st year in Speech and Debate , covid, also cut that short.

On the 15 National Team, I was also the starting middle blocker,  That NPJ team was in a CEVA tournament , and we  won the Bronze Bracket, ranking us 17th in our region out of the 15/16's!

I am planning to take collage courses at LBCC this fall,  as I am done with my high school credits. When I walk in June 2022 with my High School class I should be close to having  an Associates Degree! I am currently in a  Honors and AP classes, I also uphold a 3.93 GPA.  Over the next few years I am also training to get my municipal pilot license. I am also on the Varsity Cheerleading team for my high school. All the jumping as a middle in volleyball has made for  the highest kicks/jumps on the cheer team.  I have had two small art pieces sold in an art expo in Portland, OR and I love to paint.

Thank you for viewing my profile! -Grace
