Hi, I'm Shadaiah Frias-Monroy and I'd like you to know more about me.
I was born in the USA and grew up in Mexico since I was 2 years old dominating Spanish as my first language. Around 2021 I decided to live with my mom and returning to the USA, I started my first day of middle school going into 8th grade I was not an English speaker, but I was dedicating most of my time trying to dominate the language. By the end 1st semester, I was one of the most advanced girls in my ELD class, I graduated and kept practicing then starting High School and I wanted to play volleyball, I became addicted to the sport and ended up making the JV team my freshman year.
After High School season I decided that I was looking forward to play volleyball at a higher level, I joined club and that helped me a lot, it helped me with my court knowledge and interacting with new people, it showed me that I like to be a leader and learn new things, it made me a better player inside the court, I used to be uncomfortable and get anxiety every game because I wanted to win and prove to others that I'm good at this. After club season I joined some volleyball clinics and camps, I wanted to be ready for my sophomore volleyball season, I didn't care what others thought about me, I knew I was good at this, and I wanted this, so I just had to fight with myself. I spent the whole summer training and finally, try outs were right in front of me, I give my all and I made the varsity team!! I can say that nothing it's going to stop me, I'm going to keep fighting.
Be comfortable being uncomfortable, giving up its never the best choice.
