I have been playing volleyball since I was 12 and it is my absolute passion. I thrive on high-level competition, and I get "in the zone" and push myself to my full potential every time I step onto the court. In addition to my competitiveness, I have strong court awareness and understand the game very well. I work hard to produce stuff blocks and can produce terminal hits both in front of and behind the setter. Volleyball has challenged my mental strength by teaching me to stay focused and do whatever it takes to win every point. I am a natural leader, and have the skills to encourage my teammates and eradicate negative energy on the court. I played one season of Division I volleyball at Bryant University, and took a redshirt year this year as I would like to transfer closer to home.
I am majoring in Journalism. I come from a family of academics and they support me in working hard to achieve my full academic potential. When I am not playing volleyball or studying, I enjoy playing the piano, working at a local athletic club, and spending time with friends and family. I have also recently started coaching and mentoring younger girls who are just starting out with volleyball, and I regularly volunteer at Relay for Life (for the American Cancer Society) and at the Oregon Food Bank. I look forward to exploring opportunities to transfer and apply my leadership and volleyball skills to a new team!
