Playing volleyball has always been a passion of mine. It is something that I share a common interest with my family. Both of my parents played competitively during their high school careers, and now my little sister has started playing as well. I have been playing volleyball competitively since I was in the 7th grade, but this sport has been part of our family culture since I was a little girl. Over the years I have grown as an athlete, and I am very interested in playing college volleyball. I am a hardworking and dedicated athlete, a coachable player, a supportive teammate, a motivated learner, and I am very excited to see where I can go in this sport and in life as a whole.
My main position has always been an Outside Hitter since 7th grade. Being trained as a hitter, I also have experience playing Middle and Opposite. In order for me to succeed in this position, I have had to develop my vertical due to my height, and it has been improving a lot. Following OH, I have also had experience playing as a Defensive Specialist. I have played all defensive positions; left back, middle back, and right back. Learning to adapt to each angle on defense was crucial. Playing all the way around the court, I also learned how to switch my focus on being a dominant hitter while in the front row, then being a dominant digger in the back row. As well as passing, I show strength in being a back row hitter as well. I also have some experience as a Setter. Most recently, I have been working on becoming a setter. It started off during club season when our setters were injured and my coach thought that I could fill in for them at the time. I've been talking to my coaches about receiving more help on technique and heading into my high school conditioning, my high school coach is training me to set for the upcoming season. I love to have the chance to learn every skill and having experienced in all aspects to be an adaptable player.
