As a member of the Parkland High School Volleyball team the past two years, I have gained leadership skills and learned how to be a part of something bigger than myself. Parkland volleyball develops character, a work ethic, and an understanding of being a good team member/ classmate beyond the skills we learn on the court. I am a versatile player and have recently made the transition from middle blocker to outside hitter/DS, and am very coachable. I am currently captain of my club volleyball team and I hope to take the life lessons and volleyball skills I have learned with me to college.
Apart from volleyball, I am also enrolled in my school's arts program through Photography. I am taking Sign Language and plan to expand my knowledge throughout high school and college. I am also a very active member of Parkland's PALS club and volunteer daily in the life skills classroom. PALS connects students with and without disabilities through one-on-one and club sponsored activities/trips. Being a part of this club has taught me to be accepting of others and not to judge so quickly, as well as responsibility not only for myself, but for others.
