My name is Abiah Lane and I am a 5’10 outside hitter class of 2022.
I am a driven student-athlete who is looking to study and major in Biology. I’ve always had a positive attitude towards learning and I think that benefitted my academic and athletic career thus far. I may not always be extroverted off the court but when it comes to volleyball it immediately brings out the best in me. The passion and love I have for this sport constantly drives me to be a better teammate, player and leader. Since growing in volleyball I’ve slowly assumed the role of captain or leader on most of my teams, I think this stems from my excitement and intensity during games and practices. I want to find a team where I can not only develop my skill but also find a supportive community. I hope that at the collegiate level I can play competitively with those around me and also come together as a whole to work against other teams. I think most of my coaches would describe me as coachable and constantly looking for ways to improve my game. I'm someone who welcomes constructive criticism with open arms. I’ve played many sports as I’ve always been the athletic type but volleyball has been the best fit. With a bit of a late introduction to volleyball I’ve been working hard since 9th grade to reach where I am today and my biggest goal is to continue down this path of improvement and success.
Thank you!
