Caitlin Corcoran '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Caitlin Corcoran and I am a 2016 athletic middle hitter/RS for Perkiomen Valley High School and Synergy VBC. The first thing that a college coach needs to know about me is that I am a perfectionist, on and off the court, and that I hate to lose more than I love winning! This past year, I earned the Most Improved Player of the Year award for the varsity team at Perkiomen Valley High School. I worked hard to rehab a knee injury that occurred in November 2013. I improved my approach touch from 9'4" to 9'8", and increased my block touch from 9'2" to 9'5".  I want to be challenged and get better everyday. I want to create relationships with my teammates and coaches and compete for conference titles. I am a team player and my goal is to help my team improve every time we are on the court. I am very competitive, intense and focused on the court, in practice and in games.  I finished my junior year season with 66 blocks. I was the team's second leading scorer with 206 kills, with a kill percentage of 47.7%. My hitting percentage was .400.
I challenge myself to become a better person, athlete, and student. I am currently taking three AP courses as well as two honor courses. I am a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Rotary Interact, and Student Forum. I am a Link Crew leader - I was selected to lead an orientation group of new freshmen.  I spend time volunteering in my community and being a leader to others. In addition to my club volleyball training, I work with Dr. Nick Sito at TopSpeed Perfomance School in King of Prussia, PA. My goal is to increase my jumps, speed, and agility.
I plan to major in Business in college.  I want to play volleyball at the highest level possible, knowing that it will be hard work, but I am ready for the challenge. I also enjoy being on a team that shares the same passion of the game as I do, and want to be part of something that is bigger than me. Thanks for taking the time to look at my profile!
