Hello, my name is Genavieve Hoyle. I am going into sophomore year of high school and I have been playing volleyball for four years and club volleyball for three years. What sets me apart from other candidates for your team is not only my hard work and effort on the court but in the classroom as well. I have a 4.0 GPA and i'm in many clubs involved with my school. For example, Interact, Student Council, and Chick-fli-a Leadership Academy which only a few students are selected into. I have learned great time management skills in order to achieve good grades and still put in endless hours on the court. Growing up I did many sports like gymnastic and track, once I got up to seventh grade I decided last minute to try out for volleyball. I could tell right away that volleyball was different for me. I loved to be on the court and wanted to play constantly. No matter whats going on playing volleyball would always make me feel better and I find myself excited for every practice. I always put one hundred percent effort into everything I do on the court to help me improve as an athlete and as a teammate. I have learned over my years of playing volleyball how to keep a good mindset. Keeping a good mindset helps me be a good player and an even better teammate by always keeping my team positive and helping in anyway I can. I have had to work very hard at practice and at home in order to keep my starting position as libero and I intend to do the same as I go on throughout high school. I have played outside hitter in eighth grade but nothing stuck like libero. I always loved playing defense because I always do anything I can to make a good play or save and have a mindset to never let a ball hit the ground. I am always striving to become a better player and to perfect my skills like reading the court and being consistent on putting the ball in the correct spots to make it easier for my setter and teammates. I would love to play volleyball at an advanced collegiate level to continue my love for my this sport. It would be a good challenge for me and definitely something I am going to work very hard to achieve.
