I love playing volleyball. I am a good recruit because I will work harder on and off the court than anyone else you will find. My first week of high school volleyball, my coach told me "You have 'I work hard' written on your forehead." I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete when I got a concussion shortly after tryouts my freshman year. I was out for the whole season when I would have started JV. That experience made me put in the extra work to win the spot back my sophomore year, and get called up to varsity.
I started varsity my junior year. However, one day before district finals, I had a kidney stone. I was unable to play for several days, but I got myself warmed up for the first round of states anyway. I was not at 100%, and I told my coach that if she chose not to play me, that I was still happy that I could be there to support the team.
Overcoming these adversities over my career thus far have made me realize the true importance of supporting your teammates both on the court and the bench. It has also taught me to never give up, and that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to with hard work.
I strive to have a great attitude, never give up, and will bring that positive outlook to any team I join.
