My goal is to play competitive volleyball at the collegiate level. I hope to use my experiences to coach, mentor, and train other volleyball players post graduation. I am a good candidate for any team because I not only work hard on and off the court, but I am a mentally tough player as well. Living in a highly populated area has always meant many girls for only a few spots. I always had to work to earn the opportunity, and it taught me a strong work ethic. Breaking my arm junior year when I was poised to "run the 5-1" and lead my high school team was a tough blow, but helped me to learn other lessons in motivation of teammates and showed me what I can also bring to the sport when I am not directly on the court. That brief period where I was unable to play showed me how important the game is to me, and how I always want to be a part of it. As soon as I was cleared, I was back to individual training sessions for setting and defense, and back to speed and strength training. There is no off season and I make training a priority, whether it be for the school team, club team, or outdoor competition. Another important aspect that would make me a strong candidate for any school is my academic strength. I work as hard in the classroom as I do on the court; I have taken rigorous classes in both honors and AP courses and hold a 3.7 GPA. I possess study skills and organization necessary to achieve the balance of school and sport which are vital to be successful at the collegiate level.
