Ella Smithnosky '28 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Ella Smithnosky and I’m currently in 9th grade. I mostly play outside hitter/middle defense as well as defensive specialist/serve receiver. I am currently 14 years old at 5’6”.  I started playing at age 12 for my middle school team and now playing on JV for my high school team as well as a national club/travel team for 2025 15u season. I instantly fell in love with the sport of volleyball. I love performing at my best for my team as well as cheer them on during every point, of every game! 

On and off the court, athletically and academically, I’m hard working,competitive, dedicated, and driven to be the best version of myself for me as well as for my teammates! 

As volleyball has quickly became my main focus and priority, I’m still a multi-sport athlete. I’m currently a black belt in taekwondo, winning districts in sparring in 2023, winning nationals in sparring and combat in 2022. I also play softball for my town league. Before starting volleyball, I was a competitive gymnast for 5 years. I know what it takes and understand time management when balancing academics and athletics.
