My name is MacKenzie Pugh. My passion is volleyball, but I am involved in many activities throughout my school. Athletically, I participate in volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse. Academically, I am the Vice President of the National Honors Society and have been on the Honor Roll since freshman year. Besides academics and athletics, I am on the Student Council and a member of the SADD organization. I am also very involved musically: I have been playing the trumpet in the orchestra since freshman year, I sing in the choir, and I sing the National Anthem for every home basketball game.
In college, I aspire to go into a field of engineering, specifically biomedical engineering. Mechanics and how the body works under the immense physical pressure of sports specifically intrigues me. My dream career is to make prosthetics for athletes to enhance or regain their ability to participate in what they love to do.
I am a good candidate for your team because I am very hard working and driven. Since the start of my athletic career freshman year, I have played on the varsity team and was even awarded the role of captain this year from my peers and coaches. I believe my positivity and hard work ethic helped me achieve this role. Although I have had a short career in the athletic field, I have an immense passion for the sport of volleyball. Due to this passion, I am always pushing myself to new limits in athletics, as well as academics.
