Olivia Ballard '20 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to attend college to pursue a degree in the education field.  As a college student, I would like to compete at the highest level of competition.  I enjoy pushing myself and becoming a better player.  I am a leader, I am strategic and possess skills that make me a versatile all-around player.  I am hard-working, determined, and driven. 

I was fortunate to be the starting libero for varsity my freshman year of high school.  I was nominated to the AVCA Phenom List, as well as received Honorable Mention for the all-area team.  My sophomore and junior years I was a starting varsity player as well but played all around hitting right side my sophomore year and outside my junior year.  I loved the challenge of playing many positions for my high school team and embraced the opportunity to contribute to the team's success.  Being on a close-knit team is important to me.  I am a big team player and enjoy the camaraderie of team sports. 

I am motivated to train hard and keep my skills sharp.  During the summer months,  I play both grass and beach doubles.  I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of outdoor volleyball and touching the ball on every serve.  The summer of 2018 my partner and I qualified for the Junior Beach Nationals in Atlantic City, NJ.  We ended the tournament tied for 13th in Silver of the Open Division.  I am proud of our accomplishment since this was only our third beach tournament ever.  

I'm excited about the challenges and opportunities of college, both athletic and academic.
