My name is Daniela Figueroa, I’m 16 years old and I am going to my senior year in high school, I am going to describe my position as a libero. Why I play volleyball? Well because it is my passion. As I continue improving, the love for it grows. It excites me to be good on my position and give the best of me in every match. It has taught me a lot of things like discipline, responsibility, it has helped me be more focused, it has improve my mind and strength in my body and it also brought me a good friendship with my teammates. I’ve been a libero since I was 12 years old. I started in a club called Guilloty in Hatillo P.R. Ever since, I’ve had many great opportunities to play as a libero in other clubs. I usually play left back and I do a lot of great digs, I’m always moving in the court, I like to communicate a lot and move fast. When I make a mistake I don’t get blocked I know there’s a lot of opportunities to improve and make the team keep their head on the game to win. I know in my experience we win and we lose but the important thing is to finish the game giving the best of us. The hardest part for me while I’m playing left back is defending the line but I’ll keep working on it to be the best player I can be. My service in the court is hard and effective, in my opinion and lots of other coaches opinions. Even though I still don’t go to college, I am taking that at my advantage to continue practicing and improving my game, while I’m still improving my grades. If you have any suggestions let me know so I can work on it.
