When I was younger, I did gymnastics for 10 years. This sport helped me out in so many ways, without me even noticing it. One of them is that it showed me that only hard work can get us where we want to. When I stopped, I knew I wanted to play another sport. I presented myself to the Cegep school and talked to the coach there to enter the D2 team. I had never played in a team ever. He took me in and told me I had a year to prove myself. I wanted to be part of this team so much and worked hard every single day even when covid hit. I was going alone to the gym and practice, practice and practice. I was so determined. This was 2 years ago, which means I had one year with no sport at all and last year with some months off due to covid. I didn’t start playing volleyball young, but I made every second in the gym count so that when people look at me on the court, they can’t tell I’ve only been playing for a so called 2 years. I always want to push my limits and get the feedback from coaches and this helps me improve really fast on the court. I want to pursue volleyball in university and I’m ready to push myself until I can get that!! For the academic part, I’m the type of person to go to school really early every morning to get my work done in advance, since I’m way more focus in the morning! I found the way that works the best for me in school and I love it! Also, same as for sports, I believe I can always improve if I work hard for it and that’s the reason I want to wake up and get things done in the morning! Overall I think I’m a very good candidate for a volleyball team since I’m hardworking, open to comments, I want to learn and I have good communication skills! Playing in a university team for me would represent a whole opportunity for me to push myself even higher and grow as a person!
