My name is Mackenzie Cooler, I am six feet, one inch tall and weigh 155 pounds. I played Varsity for my 3A high school beginning in eighth grade as a Middle Hitter. During my first season I was awarded 3A All Region honors as an eighth grader, started on my team that won the Region AAA Championship and Lower State Title, and competed in the State AAA Finals (runner up). I was also awarded the Defensive Player of the Year and I led the team with 269 kills and 77 kill blocks for the season. In club, I played for the Low Country Volleyball Club 18 & Under Power Team and made the All-Region 2nd team in the 18 & Under Open Division as an eighth grader and tenth grader. As a freshman, I changed positions and served as a setter and outside hitter in our 6-2 offense. I am the team leader on the court as well as the offensive captain. I led my team in kills, blocks and assists. I was the first player in my school's history to lead the team in all three categories. As a result I was named as Most Valuable Player (twice), received All Region Honors, named All Region Player of the Year in 2011, recieved All State Honors as a sophomore, and have been named as a Prepvolleyball.com Freshman of the Year Finalist as well as being named to the Sophomore 79. In practice and on the volleyball court, I am hard working and extremely dedicated to volleyball. My dream is to play volleyball in college and it has been my dream since I started playing in fifth grade. At this point in my volleyball career, I do not have specific schools that I would like to attend. I am open to any school with a quality education and a quality volleyball program. One of the schools that I have followed is the University of Florida, because when I was younger I watched a match on television and saw Head Coach Mary Wise and instantly wanted to play for her because she looked like a great coach who really cared about her players and the success of her volleyball team. I am open to playing for a coach that cares about athletes with a team that wants to work together and achieve great success. My goal is to major in Speech and Hearing Disorders. In college volleyball, I hope to play at the highest level possible. If am able to play in college, I want to work very hard and push myself to be the best I can and to earn my spot and play my freshman through senior years of college.
