My name is Jocelyn Roper. I have played many different sports ever since I was little and have always wanted to play something in college. When I started playing volleyball in eighth grade I knew that this was my sport. I became very dedicated to making sure that I was a good teammate and that I was individually strong so that I could continue my academic and volleyball career through college. Being apart of a team has taught me many lessons and I love to lift up and celebrate with my teammates every practice, game, etc. While I love being apart of a team I also think it is very important to be individually strong. Whether it is waking up at three in the morning to go to the gym or skipping time with friends just to get extra practice in with my high performance coach, I do it because I love the sport and I want to be the strongest I can for my team and myself. In college I want to study Nutrition and Dietetics because I have a passion for being healthy and I want to help others learn as well. While volleyball is very important to me nothing will come above my relationship with God. Every Wednesday I go to youth group at my church and even tough it is hard since I work full time and have volleyball, I always make time for growing my relationship with God.
