I love volleyball! I love the teamwork necessary to excel at the game and am working hard to prepare myself to play at the college level.
I bring strength and power to the front row as a left handed hitter and I am not afraid to go after a ball. It's also fun to block shots at the net against opponents who underestimate my ability to jump. To me, it is important to be a strong contributor to the team and to be encouraging to my teammates, whether we are ahead or behind in the game.
Although volleyball is my focus now, I enjoy competing and played school and AAU basketball for several years. My freshman year, I played as a post on the freshman and junior varsity teams and was brought up to the varsity team mid season. I also threw shotput and discus for our varsity track team my freshman year and went to the regional meet for shotput. While participating in multiple sports was fun, volleyball is my strongest sport and the one I am most passionate about . My sophomore year, I decided to focus on volleyball and academics and know it was the right decision.
For a college major, I am still undecided, but am leaning toward exercise science, athletic training or physical therapy. The opportunity to play volleyball at the college level is exciting, and I want to find the right fit where I can help my team win and am encouraged to be successful, both on the court and in the classroom.
