Going into my Senior year, I now have eight seasons of Volleyball experience, playing both school and club. Being a part of two teams has not only challenged me to grow as an athlete and player, but even more as a person. It has pushed me to become more out-going, more competitive, more committed to my goals, and to become a leader among my teammates and peers. As a fifteen-year-old, I was moved up to play 17U Club as a Middle Hitter, and this past season, as a sixteen-year-old, I played 18U as a Right Side and occasional Outside Hitter. At school, I choose rigorous coursework, challenging myself with AP, Honors, and summer classes. As Junior I have taken on the role as Student Council Vice-President and being the Junior Student School Board Representative and attending all school board meetings. The end of the school year brought lots of new opportunities to the table. As a Senior for Johnson County High School I will be Student Council President, National Honor Society Vice-President, and the Senior School Board Student Representative. This July I will be going on my fifth mission trip to Costa Rica, and hope to go back in January.
I am looking for a college or university that offers great academic programs to set me on a path toward my professional goals, with a volleyball program and coach that will continue to challenge and grow me as both a player and a person, and that will help me to reach my goals as a collegiate athlete. I am confident I will be able to make a difference as a leader and be a good fit for a college program where coachable, hardworking, team-oriented players are wanted.
