Personal Statement

I want to play volleyball at the collegiate level. I like to have fun and believe that volleyball is a fun sport. I am a coachable player that can learn very quickly, I understand that mistakes help me grow as a person and athlete,  and I enjoy learning. Sometimes it can be hard to take me serious because of how silly and sarcastic I am, but I can also get things done when I need to. I am also dependable, quick to solve problems, and creative. I love meeting new people and understand the value of teamwork.

I want to study Physical Therapy in college and get my PTA as soon as possible. Then continue to get my master's degree to further my education in that field. I currently have a 3.6/4.0 GPA.  I like to work hard and have a job at the moment that helps pay for my club volleyball costs.

My goals regarding athletics are to reach an approach touch of 10 feet or more. I have strengths in blocking and serving. One specific trademark of mine is to reach under the net at least one time during the game and high-five one of the opposing players and say "nice block" or "that was a good hit" (usually when they are close to the net so it isn't too weird). This helps me relax, clear my head and focus on the next play. I have also always been a starter for my high school and club teams.

  • Weber State Skills Camp
  • 6/14/18 to 6/16/18
  • I worked with Head Coach Jeremiah Larson on all the basics of volleyball. We covered how to pass better, with less effort and movement; hitting drills, geared more towards outside hitters; and even some setting, even though most of the girls in attendance were hitters. This camp helped me develop my skills as an OH and learn how to hit the ball harder in the middle. The drills that were run helped me understand how to simplify complex movements, and overall become a better volleyball player.
