During my time playing volleyball, I have grown such a passion for the sport. I have to continue to play in college for it is not a possibility for me to miss the opportunity to maintain and grow my love for volleyball. Being from Vermont, there are not many opportunities to play, primarily when I was younger. That, however, did not stop me from taking every chance to play and develop my skills further.
The summer of sophomore year I made it my mission to make varsity. I practiced every day by any means possible. The moment I received the email to try out with the varsity team was one of the best feelings ever. All my hard work was paying off. During that season we almost had an undefeated season. Making it so semi-finals were terrific and we got our entire school behind us in a way I have never seen before.
I continue to try my hardest to improve, not only myself but the team as well. This past club season I was elected captain. We have had a season that has been less than favorable. I nevertheless, try my hardest to keep a positive vibe on and off the court, for I love the sport and only want my team to succeed. Being on a volleyball team has given me the confidence to speak up to motivate and help a team. It has taught me to be humble in a team setting as well as how to praise someone else's success.
