Ever since I began playing volleyball my freshman year, I knew it was a true passion for me. I not only enjoy the game, but also I love the challenge of improving myself and overcoming obstacles to make something of myself I never thought was possible. My goal is to play at the collegiate level. Despite some difficulties, it won't stop me from a chance at a special and memorable experience in college. I believe struggles in life are, in the end, better for shaping me as a person and proving to myself that I can make my dreams a reality. I am in the class of 2019 at John Champe High school in Aldie, Virginia. I played as a MB for my recent club season, and a RS for my high school season, as well as the club season before that. Some strengths I think I have: I have quick movement on the court and a strong defense. The most important part of being on a team to me is the ability to have chemistry, trust, and communication with the entire team. I believe that the energy on the court is what ultimately leads to how the team plays together. I am a leader of the team by bringing my teammates spirits up and bringing us together in order to play harder and better. I am mentally tough and strong and I love bringing a team together. Also, I am very coachable; since playing volleyball my freshman year, I had given it 100% every time I set foot on the court. I knew that most players have played longer, been to more tournaments, and had more financial ability to play more. Knowing this, I didn't get discouraged and I kept working hard. I think that I have come very far and I am continuing my hard work. I am still playing and improving myself every chance I get. I also work year long since my sophomore year at a local grocery store, Harris Teeter. I've been working there for 2 years and I have a major leadership role at my job and I love how it helps me grow as a person, and assists to my volleyball skills/communication skills with my teammates on and off the court.
Academically, I maintain a 3.7 GPA in addition to AP and honors classes. I am interested in majoring in business management.
Last season, 2017-2018, I played for SYA Volleyball Club. In 2018-2019, I played for Vienna Elite Volleyball Club. Both are located within the Centreville/Sterling area in VA.
I have verbally committed to play for Northern Virginia Community College in the fall of 2019 for two years and hope to commit to a University after this.
