Hello, my name is Brittany Tea, and I am a class of 2019 DS/Libero. I will be playing for Evolution 17/18 Black this 2018/2019 club season.
I started playing volleyball when I was in 8th grade and since I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. Although I was fairly new to the sport, it served as a primary role in teaching me important life skills.
My Freshman year I didn't make a club team, forcing me to play recreational volleyball. I knew this meant I would be behind in my skills and that set me apart from the rest of the girls returning to high school tryouts next fall. However, I decided to take this as an opportunity to grow. I put in a countless amount of hours to make up for the missed playing time that I would've received in a club. This meant I went to every single workout lift, green day, and camps throughout the entire summer. As a result, I was a sophomore starter on varsity.
During this past high school season, I was named 1st Team All-District, 6A Libero of The Year, Defensive MVP, Team Captain, and MaxPreps Player of The Match x3. Regardless of my performance during practices or games, I always strive to be better. Whenever I am faced with any challenge I am able to overcome it because giving up is not an option. I reflect on my past mistakes and see them as an opportunity to thrive. Whether I am on or off of the court I always push myself and my peers/teammates to reach their full potential. I lead by example by working hard for not only myself but also my teammates. My dedication to the sport has shaped me into the person I am today.
Academics are just as important to me. This past quarter I was able to maintain a 4.36 GPA while playing a sport and enrolled in IB, honors, and college level courses. My goal is to find a school that that offers a strong academic and athletics program. I would like to achieve that goal by earning a degree in Biology, Kinesiology, or Exercise Science while pursuing my volleyball career at a competitive level. I am confident that I have what it takes to manage to be a student-athlete at the collegiate level.
I hope to achieve my goals and make an impact on your program!
