Hello, my name is Avery Jastrzemski. I am a 6'0" OH/RS hitter and a junior at Goochland High School in Richmond, VA. I currently play for River City Volleyball Academy on the 17 Nationals Team. I have been playing volleyball competitively now since I was 11. I played soccer for many years as well as varsity basketball, and those varied team-based athletic experiences have taught me the value of mental toughness, adaptability and teachability, as well as a team-first mentality. I have played at the highest level of travel volleyball available to me each year. I also played Varsity starting as an 8th grader. I was twice selected to play for the ODR Region USA High Performance Team (2018 and 2019). This past fall HS season, I earned First team All Region Honors as a sophomore. I also was recently named to the 2023 JVA Watchlist. My long-term goal is to not only play for a high level college team, but to further grow into the type of player my future college coach can dependably build around; one that leads by example both on and off the court, and is teachable. I also wish to find the right school that includes my desired major, which at this point is exercise science. I am looking forward to opportunities to show I am ready to compete at the next level, and feel I am very capable of balancing the demands of being a student-athlete in college.
