I'm very passionate about volleyball and would love to pursue it at a high level, while attending a school with challenging academics. I believe I'm a good fit for a DS or Libero position because I enjoy the challenges that come with it. Specifically, I'm fascinated by the mental aspect of quick decision making and even quicker reaction requirement that is unique to the position. As a natural leader both on the court and in school, I am committed to Navy JROTC at my high school, the Cyber Patriot team, Girl Scouts, Lacrosse, and two different martial arts. Through these leadership opportunities, I have volunteered over 100 hours so far in high school and led fundraising for several different needful organizations in my community. This demonstrates that I am very supportive of others and like to help in any way I can. That being said, I'm a driven and hardworking individual who enjoys athletic challenges, always giving 100%, and expecting the same commitment from my teammates. Thanks to my hard work, I have improved so much since the beginning of this year and I can't wait to see the level I will be playing at the end of my high school career!
I have learned through training and experience that mental fortitude and discipline are equally as important as the physical aspects of the game. Whenever the team is down or someone makes a mistake, I make sure to use words of encouragement while focusing on what we need to do to get through the next point and change the game's momentum. I personally focus on having a positive attitude when mistakes are made on the court, whether I make the mistake or my teammate does. One of my best character traits is that after I make a mistake during a game, I crave for the next ball to come to me to show what I can actually do.
I am known for my positivity, athleticism, and all-around solid play on the court. I seem to perform better when the game is on the line. I have a competitive nature, as my siblings and parents would all tell you. From backyard basketball, to lacrosse, to video games, I always want to win and enjoy the thrill and the opportunity to compete.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me!
Have a wonderful day!
