I want to get a great education. I want to play volleyball while I'm doing that, because being a part of a team makes me better at everything I do. I love playing for a team. The friendship bonds we create make us like a family. I love supporting my teammates on and off the court, and even outside of volleyball. Cheering on my team and individual team members are what makes the volleyball experience all worthwhile for me. It's exciting when we all work together and are successful. I always try to encourage others' accomplishments but also make sure to lift up someone who might not make a great play. I have a "play the play" mindset, meaning whatever happened last play is over, and we need to focus on the point ahead of us. Lastly, I have always played better whenever I am playing with those who are better and more experienced than I am. This makes me rise to the occasion and always want to learn and improve. In my first year on varsity, as a sophomore, I was a starter. We went undefeated and didn't lose until the first round of the state tournament. That season was amazing and made me realize how much I could improve and compete with the veterans on the team, and it made me realize how much I loved volleyball. My second season on varsity was more of a challenge, as a junior I felt responsible to be a role model and be a leader for my teammates. This also showed me how much I loved this sport because I could help teach someone else about its fundamentals. I've also been very focused in the classroom and take my education seriously and being part of a team family has made me want to be a better student-athlete overall. I take the most rigorous courses my school offers and maintain all A's in every class. I have confidence that I will bring my best abilities and qualities as a player and a student to an amazing college. I can't wait to play for that team!
