Hello, my name is Peyton Porterfield. I am a setter and have played travel volleyball for 4 years. Though, I have been around volleyball my entire life coming from a family of coaches and players which resulted in me loving and understanding the game even more. I am a player who will put in the work on and off of the court. I never quit until I reach my goal as quitting is one of my pet peeves. I always want to be better for myself and for my team. My academics are equally important to me. Learning new things and understanding how things work are satisfying for me. Because my grades and academics are of significant importance, I would love to have the opportunity to attend a smaller school to be able to connect with my professors and community. I have a passion for being involved with the community and giving to others. I have been a part of a mentoring organization called GirlTalk for many years. GirlTalk is a peer to peer mentoring program for middle and high school girls. I have been fortunate to be able to be a part of GirlTalk since 6th grade to then become a leader in 9th grade. I love being a part of community services that allow me to help others. I hope that I am able to play volleyball in college because I know that I can make a difference for my team and for my campus.
