I started playing volleyball during the summer of 2012, before my freshman year in high school. Although I had been interested in volleyball, I didn’t quite know where to start. I attended two volleyball camps that summer and I instantly fell in love with the game, wanting to play at the collegiate level. From that moment on, I was committed to doing whatever it takes to reach that goal. Playing at this level is a life changing opportunity that I'm working towards every single day.
At the end of my freshman season, I was named MVP of my team. My sophomore year, I was named as a captain of my team and I was awarded with the Coach's Choice award. This past season, I was named Most Versatile Player on my team.
I possess a good volleyball IQ and a strong serve that contributes to me bettering myself and my team, as well. I'm a team leader on and off the court, motivating my teammates any way I can. I am a coachable athlete. I understand that there is always room for improvement and there is always something else to learn. I welcome every opportunity to gain knowledge, on and off the court.
I use the thought of being told that I wasn’t good enough to personally transform myself into the student-athlete I am today. Throughout the years of my volleyball career, I’ve learned that I have to continue to work hard to reach the goals I set for myself. I know that nothing comes easy. I plan to work hard for everything that, I pray, will come my way.
In regards to academics, I plan on graduating at the highest rank possible. I am proud to say that while in the eighth grade, I applied to and was accepted into the Center for The Humanities, a unique academic center offered through my school district. Being a student-athlete, I understand that academics come before anything else. In college, I plan to continue being the best I can be both academically and athletically.
