Although I started volleyball in the summer of my freshman year, I was determined to make friends at my new school. I quickly fell in love with the sport itself and was even asked to sit varsity midseason (with playing time). During my sophomore year, I found my true spot as a hitter on the team and started seriously considering playing volleyball at the collegiate level. Before my junior year, I fully committed myself to the recruiting process but suffered an injury to my right shoulder and bicep. This injury prevented me from hitting and (overhand) serving my entire high school junior season. However, this injury was also a blessing in disguise, because it allowed me to improve my defensive and setting action. Today, I keep my skills sharp by playing for Richmond Volleyball Club on a City 17s team.
I hold an unweighted GPA of 3.3 while taking 6 academic classes I also play three seasons of sports that include swimming and softball. When not studying or at practice, I can be found rehearsing for a school play or doodling in my planner to keep track of my busy schedule!
