Hi,
My name is Eleanor Hayd (class 2023). Volleyball has been a passion for me for most of my life, and it will continue to be for the rest of my life. I am looking for a program that will help grow me as a competitor as well as provide academic opportunities that can help to launch a happy, successful career on and off the court.
Most of my volleyball life, including this year, I've played up 2 years up in my age group. My first club experience was with a club called SkyHigh out of Crystal Lake, Illinois . I played on the U10s team as an 8 year old. The volleyball atmosphere was excellent. There was a strong emphasis on coaching and I attribute these early experiences to a strong focus on fundamentals. My next club was U12 Ozark Juniors out of Fayetteville, Arkansas. In 2014 we moved to the Seattle area where I am today. After a first year of playing for a club Sabotage, I then played for 4 years at Washington Volleyball Academy. This past year I challenged myself by playing with a new club on the Kent Juniors 17's team that is now being absorbed into the club team North Pacific Juniors (NPJ’s) .
During quarantine I had the awesome opportunity to be a part of three different beach clubs despite the sports restriction circumstances. I trained with AVA’s beach for two months, Northwest Juniors (NWJ’s) beach program, and part of Dakine’s summer beach season in their top division. In addition to these clubs, I really loved competing on most weekends in tournaments with my partner and being challenged with learning beach strategies. This fall I continued to grow my skills training with Dakine’s Fall Beach Series. With the help of all the players and coaches I’ve met this year, I discovered a new passion for beach volleyball.
My goal is to be an excellent Volleyball player in college and to study health related studies such as kinesiology, nutrition, and agriculture sciences. Moving around the country and having different training experiences has made me more interested than ever to study these specific things. I work hard for the opportunities I am afforded. My progress comes not just by chance or hoping for it to happen, but by determination and diligence. I go in for extra reps even during off season and non practice evenings when my homework is complete. I love traveling and I've been to some really cool places for summer camps and tournaments without letting this affect my grades. I feel I am a good student and continue to be inspired to push for continued success in school.
Please take a look at my profile and go watch my video if my story interests you at all. My mission is to learn how to become a better athlete and perform at an optimal level while helping others do the same. Feel free to contact me if you think that your school will be the perfect fit for me.
Thank you,
Eleanor 'Nora' Hayd
